HUD-counselors are used to provide case management and assist citizens to enter apprenticeships nationwide.
Culturally relevant financial capability and literacy counseling services are crucial for unlocking people’s economic potential. Individuals who are new to the US financial system and those who have limited English proficiency face barriers to conducting basic financial transactions, building a credit history, accumulating savings, and accessing credit, renting housing becoming homeowners on fair and affordable terms while avoiding predatory practices
HEAT’s HUD-approved housing counselors will work with homeowners and tenants to avoid foreclosure and eviction. There are numerous federal, state, and local remedies, resources, and funding available to help at-risk homeowners and tenants facing foreclosure or eviction. The HEAT counselors play an indispensable role in helping distressed homeowners and tenants navigate the complexities to access these programs, submit the necessary paperwork and advocate for them with landlords and mortgage companies.

HEAT, upon reaching HUD certification, will participate in the AmeriCorps Housing Counseling Corps Initiative. The AmeriCorps program places mission driven individuals with HUD-approved housing counseling in a nationwide deployment that has been a great success, connecting dedicated members with agencies across the country.
This initiative is helping to create a new generation of skilled professionals who are committed to helping individuals and families achieve housing stability and homeownership. HUD funding can be used to support the program.
HEAT is committed to advancing advocacy and raising awareness among individuals and municipalities to address the underlying factors contributing to the decline of homeownership in local communities. Utilizing a comprehensive, data-driven approach and cutting-edge technology, HEAT will equip city and municipal leaders with critical insights to develop effective prevention strategies. Our efforts will focus on fostering increased homeownership, providing asset protection guidance, and offering counseling services designed to promote generational wealth, ultimately working to close the wealth gap and strengthen community prosperity.

Since their ancestors did not have the knowledge and/or means to create an state, it is one of the biggest factors in widening the current wealth gap which has expanded significantly with the recent rise of homeownership equity.
